We are pleased to report that three members of the Tax Bar of Mumbai have been selected for appointment to the prestigious post of Hon’ble Members of the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal.
The three selected are Ms Beena Pillai, Advocate, Ms Suchitra Kamble, Advocate and Mr Pradip Kedia CA.
All three are well versed with the nuances of Direct Tax Laws and have been appearing regularly before the ITAT and the High Court. They are also regular contributors to the AIFTP Journal and have written numerous enlightening articles on important issues of taxation.
Interestingly, while the members of the Bombay Tax Bar have always been forthcoming in answering the call of duty to the nation by joining the judicial services, this is the first time that so many members have been selected together.
We are confident that all three will prove to be a valuable asset to the Tribunal. We wish all three good luck in their endeavours.

Not clear whether these three appointments are pursuant to advertisement dated 17-04-2013?
I sought information thru RTI as to what happened to selection process pursuant to advt. dated 17-04-2013 .. Deptt. of Legal Affairs, Min of Law and Justice informed me vide their letter dated 17th June 2015 ( in F No. F-12016(1) /9/2015 – Admn.III ( LA) that –
” The recruitment process for appointment of Members ( Judicial/ Accountant ) of Income Tax Appellate Tribunal , against the advertisement issued by this Department on 17-04-2013 , is underway.”
