Practising advocates as well as the retired officers of the Income Tax Department with Law degree are eligible for empanelment. The qualification, schedule of fees and allowances and the proforma application in which the application has to be made, have been prescribed by the Central Board of Direct Taxes, New Delhi vide its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itatonline.org\/info\/index.php\/revision-of-schedule-of-fees-payable-to-standing-counsels-for-the-income-tax-department\/\">Instruction No.8\/2007 dated 30.08.2007<\/a>, a copy of which can be obtained from the Income Tax Officer (HQrs)(Judicial), RoomNo.323, Main Building, 3rd Floor, No.121,Nungambakkam High Road, Chennai-34 (Ph. No.044 28338376\/ 28338076, Mobile No.9445953100). A copy of the same can also be downloaded from the Websites at www.incometaxindia.gov.in and irsofficersonline.gov.in.
