Mr. S. Venkataramani, Chartered Accountant from Bengaluru (Karnataka), has been unanimously elected as the National President of the All India Federation of Tax Practitioners (AIFTP) for the term 2026.
The AIFTP is the apex national body of tax practitioners, comprising over 11,500 life members spread across 29 States and 4 Union Territories, with 146 professional associations affiliated to it.
The election took place at the 28th National Convention of the AIFTP, held on 12th December 2025 at the Tennis Pavilion, Bangalore Palace, Bengaluru, coinciding with the celebration of 50 Golden Years of the AIFTP.
The oath of office was administered to Mr. S. Venkataramani on 13th December 2025 , by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, Judge, Supreme Court of India, the Chief Guest of the inaugural session, in the august presence of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Vibhu Bakhru, Chief Justice of the High Court of Karnataka, and more than 889 delegates from across the country.
Mr. S. Venkataramani is a Chartered Accountant with over three decades of experience in the field of indirect taxation. He possesses extensive expertise in advisory services, assessments, appellate proceedings, and representation before Tribunal and enforcement authorities across India. A former partner of Singhvi, Dev & Unni, Chartered Accountants, he is presently in independent practice. He is a regular speaker and faculty member at State and National level programmes, has delivered over 800 lectures, and has co-authored several authoritative books and ICAI publications on VAT and GST. He has also served on various committees of the ICAI, trade bodies, and Government institutions, and currently holds positions including Independent Director on several listed companies.
