The pagdi property is more than 50 years old and have also received notice from BCM for structural repair. We (tenant) had multiple meetings with the land owner but he is neither ready for repair nor he is ready for redevelopment. In such case according to law what is the tenant right to go with redevelopment where the land owner is not ready for same.
The only solution if there is an impasse with the landlord is for the tenants to approach Court. Pagdi tenants do not have much rights and cannot dictate terms of redevelopment but if the building is unsafe as per the BMC’s structural audit, tenants can be permitted to carry out repairs or redevelopment.
