Dismissing the appeal of the revenue the Tribunal held that , the assesse was not carrying on any separate business for earning such interest. The income so derived was the amount attributable to the activity of carrying on the business of banking or providing credit facilities to its members , accordingly the interest was held to be deductible .( AY. 2013-14)
