Facts Demand raised against the assessee after assessment u/s 143(3) First appeal preferred and order in favour of assessee. Amount refunded by department as no addition sustained for refund as well as demand paid along with interest u/s 244A. appeal preferred by the department against order of CIT appeal before Honourable ITAT Meanwhile assessee settled the dispute under VSVS by paying 50% Now revised form 3 received seeking to recover 244A interest already granted to assessee on earlier interest paid and also seeking to collect 234D interest @ 0.5% from date of refund to date of payment under VSVS.   CHARGING OF INTEREST U/S 234B
In case of assessee, ITAT has set aside the assessment order to the AO with directions to re-asses the income. Assessing officer has passed the order as per the direction of the Hon'ble ITAT. Whether after decision of Tribunal, Assessing Officer is duty bound to charge interest under section 234B up to date of original order of assessment passed by him and not up to date of reassessment order passed by him in pursuance of order of Tribunal. Regarding the deduction available u/s 24b of Income Tax Act, Can a son who is the co-borrower of the loan taken claim the deduction u/s 24(b). If the investment under VPF is above 3 Lacs during the FY2021-22, what will be tax effect and how much can be claimed as exemption If the VPF accumulation upto 31.03.2021 is Rs. 10 Lacs.  What is the taxability? Interest credited to the account will be on accumulated VPF amount, How to claim exemption and arrive the taxable interest? My client met with an accident in R.T. Nagar, Bangalore about 2 years back whose leg has been amputated in Columbia Hospital, Hebbal, Bangalore.  The Court has awarded compensation of about Rs.12 lakhs which is still in the Court and the Court has not released the amount till date (17-5-2021). 2.
