Held that in view of the amendments in the IT Act education cess cannot be allowed as an expenditure. AO is directed, while giving effect to this order, to examine the amount of “education cess”, if any, claimed by the assessee as an expenditure in the returns or in the proceedings. (AY. 2008-09)
