Ministry Approves Promotion Of IRS Officers As CsIT While Some Rejected As ‘Unfit’

The Ministry of Personnel has issued a letter dated 31.10.2019 stating that the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the empanelment of several officers for promotion to the grade of Commissioner of Income Tax (CIT) in the Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax). However, some officers have not been empaneled for promotion to the grade of Commissioner of Income Tax (CIT) as the DPC has assessed them as ‘Unfit‘. Cases of other officers has been “deferred“.
