Mr. Justice Pradeep P. Bhatt has been conferred with the Justice P. N. Bhatwati Award by his Excellency Mr. Biswabhusan Harichandran, Honourable Governor of Andhra Pradesh in the distinguished presence of Mr. Justice A. K. Patnaik, former Judge of Supreme Court of India, Mr. N. Ravi Chairman, Press Trust of India. It is an honour to this Institution

Shetty, Past President and Senior departmental representatives were also invited on the occasion of Shri Pramod Kumar assuming charge as Vice-President
Pursuant to an order dated 20th August, 2019 passed by Justice P P Bhatt, the Hon’ble President of the ITAT, the transfers of two Hon’ble Vice Presidents have been ordered w.e.f. 2nd September, 2019
Pursuant to the consultations with the Collegium of the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal, consisting or the President and two senior most Vice Presidents, five Hon’ble Members have been transferred in the same capacity, in public interest, with effect from 6th September 2019
Pursuant to an order dated 9th August 2019 passed after consultations with the Collegium of Income Tax Appellate Tribunal, consisting of the President and two senior most Vice Presidents, a Judicial Member of the ITAT has been transferred on account of administrative exigencies and in public interest, with effect from 23rd August, 2019.
The CBDT has vide Circular No. 17/2019 dated 8th August 2019 further enhanced the monetary limits for filing of appeals by the Department before the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT), High Courts and SLPs/appeals before Supreme Court
The CBDT has sent the clear signal in the Central Action Plan 2019-20 that it will no longer tolerate the lethargy of CsIT(A) in the matter of disposal of appeals. It has pointed out that huge tax demands are locked up in these appeals. It has stipulated that 100% of appeals involving demands of Rs. 50 crore should be disposed off

The Income Tax Appellate Tribunal Bar Association has issued a letter dated 4th June 2019 stating that a Disciplinary Committee comprising of five Advocates has been constituted to examine complaints of violations of the Code Of Conduct by members of the Bar. The identity of the informant/ complainant will not be revealed
