The CBDT has issued a statement that an order being circulated on social media pertaining to extension of due dt for filing of IT Returns is not genuine. Taxpayers have been advised to file Returns within the extended due date of 31.08.2019

@IncomeTaxIndia Please consider the flood Disturbances in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Gujrat, etc from 5 August 19 to 19 Aug19. Also till now, we are frightened due to flood. Please extend the non-audit ITR filling date to 30 Sept19 & the tax audit ITR filling to 31 Oct19.
