Why not this before the time of retirement ie during her tenure. I have analysis so many reports / articles written by the official abd saying revenue recovery / collection procedure should be transparent and human approachable and hassle free. Why you say this at that time when you dont have any power. When you have the power cant do anyhting.

” be human the department had to adopt a transparent and humane approach and provide hassle-free service to honest taxpayers as part of the policy.” Not acceptable.

The lady has got wisdom only at the time of retirement.During tenure of her job, like any other bureaucrat, she was always in power and had never thought about human approach. She had always acted with high handedness and left no stone unturned in filling the coffers for her higher bosses.I during my practice of more than 25 years have never come across any bureaucrat who had asked his sub-ordinates to have human approach during their tenure and when they are really enjoying the immense power. The wisdom acquired all of sudden has neither any meaning nor any voice which will be listened to.

The income tax officers feel it only at the time of retirement that the department had to adopt a transparent and humane approach and provide hassle-free service to honest taxpayers as part of the policy as they themselves now the normal people and there are chances that the income tax officers will treat them also at the same level as to the common man.
